HYRDO ORBIT - Crafting a Fluid Future

In the heart of our cherished city, Hydro Orbit emerges as a visionary project that seamlessly blends the gentle flow of the existing Ox Bow Bend with a profound respect for its rich history. Prioritizing pedestrian pathways and painting a vibrant picture of a scenic esplanade along the water, this endeavor breathes renewed life into a historically significant space.

The core objective of Hydro Orbit is to revive and reimagine not just a space but an entire community—a lively, sustainable community that orbits around the principles of unity and inclusivity. Through active community involvement, we aim to intricately weave together the past and present, fostering a future that is both dynamic and welcoming.

Hydro Orbit symbolizes more than revitalization; it signifies a forward movement, an orbit into a future where water elements and dynamic, interconnected pathways define the essence of community living. Join us in this journey as we orbit into a vibrant and inclusive future, where history, sustainability, and community converge in harmony.

(re)connect

The current site, consumed by industry, is estranged from the surrounding natural environment. The Jack-Knife Bridge, along with disused rail tracks and fragmented pedestrian paths, serves as remnants. These industrial echoes, alongside expanses of unused pavement, highlight the lack of human interaction with the surrounding natural environment. This proposal utilizes constructed systems as tools to foster connections, not only with the neighboring parks but also with the Old River Channel. It aims to revive and integrate the urban fabric with its natural context and to reestablish disconnected human and non-human relationships.

Azure Promenade

Situated on the west bank of Cleveland’s Cuyahoga river, Azure Promenade transforms an extractive, private industrial site into a publicly accessible esplanade. The project explores and reinterprets formal urban design paradigms, projectively forging a new and dynamic connection between the east and west banks. Functioning as a symbolic bridge across the river, the urban intervention establishes a compelling visual terminus for the proposed Bedrock development. Prioritizing pedestrian oriented accessibility, the design establishes numerous access points weaving through, around, and over the structure.

Hydro Rail

Hydro Rail, an 18-acre development with 2,500 residential units, redefines urban living by seamlessly blending accessibility, greenery, commerce, and entertainment. Prioritizing inclusivity, the design features pedestrian-friendly pathways, connecting residents to six acres of lush public spaces mirroring the adjacent riverbanks.

This visionary development envisions a vibrant riverfront hub, hosting diverse shops, cafes, and cultural spaces. Hydro Rail pulsates day and night, creating a unique fusion of urban energy and natural tranquility. Enhancing connectivity, the development transforms bridges into architectural marvels and revitalizes rail networks, solidifying its connection to the broader cityscape. Inspired by aquatic life, the architectural design reflects the fluidity of the river, creating a visual dialogue between the urban space and nature. Hydro Rail stands as a holistic model for sustainable urban living, harmonizing 2,500 units with six acres of inviting public spaces. It showcases the possibilities when visionary development, environmental consciousness, and community well-being converge.
